Deliverables:

  1. For this assignment you will enter several datasets into one Excel workbook and create the different graphs described below.
  2. Submit one Excel workbook containing one graph per worksheet. So just put each graph on the worksheet with the data. To get full credit you must label the chart axis and have a chart title.
  3. Also save your copy of the workbook as an adobe(.PDF) file before you upload to Brightspace.
  4. If you need a review on creating charts there is a link to several chart tutorials at the assignment link. https://qrfellowssps.commons.gc.cuny.edu/teach-yourself-excel/

Here are the graphs to create:

1.  Bar graph: Create a worksheet named Bar-Graph. Enter the data found on pg. 89 Table 5.3 into this worksheet. Use this data to recreate the 2 bar charts shown in Figure 5.15 Bar graph comparison of patient profile data. (3 points)

2.  Pie chart: Create a worksheet named Pie-Chart. Enter the data found on pg. 90 Table 5.4 into this worksheet. Use this data to recreate the 2 pie charts shown in Figure 5.16 Pie chart Comparison of patient profile data. (3 poins)

3.  Scatter plot: Enter the data on pg. 80 (first listing of values) which is 15 observations of systolic blood pressure. Use this data to create the scatter plot shown in Figure 5.8 page 81. Hint: you will want to input the data in one column not one row as show in the text. And create a column header. You need two columns, one for each distinct (i.e. unique) blood pressure reading like 115 and one showing the frequency which is how many readings there are in the data for that distinct value. For example the frequency for 116 is two. (4 points)
