For this assignment, you are a management consultant undertaking a series of projects for the board of Coca-Cola Company.
Company Background: The Coca-Cola Company
The Coca-Cola Company, headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, is one of the world’s most recognized and successful beverage companies. The company was founded in 1886 by Dr. John Pemberton and incorporated by Asa Candler in 1892.
Coca-Cola began as a medicinal tonic and evolved into a globally distributed soft drink. Over time, it became a symbol of American culture and innovation, supported by advertising campaigns and its signature shaped bottle.
Coca-Cola operates under a franchise model and sells concentrate to a vast network of bottling partners, who produce and distribute its beverages. Its product portfolio has expanded far beyond its original product to include Diet Coke, Coca-Cola Zero Sugar, Sprite, Fanta, Minute Maid, Dasani, Powerade, Smartwater, and more.
In response to changing consumer preferences, the company has increasingly invested in low- and no-sugar drinks, water, teas, energy drinks, and even alcohol-infused offerings in select markets.
The company is focused on sustainability and has pledged to use 100% recyclable packaging by 2025 and achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2050.
Despite facing challenges like health concerns and environmental criticism, Coca-Cola remains a global leader with over US$45 billion in annual revenue and operations in more than 200 countries.
Through continued innovation and adaptation, it maintains its position as a powerhouse in the global beverage industry.
