As part of the formal assessment for the programme you are required to submit a

Supporting Dignity and Respect through Ethical Principles assignment. Please refer to your Student Handbook for full details of the programme assessment scheme and general information on preparing and submitting assignments.

Learning Outcomes:

After completing the module, you should be able to:

  1. Recognise the ethical and moral concepts pertaining to freedom, rights, responsibilities and the use of power in care.
  2. Discuss effective communication and interpersonal skills including compassion, dignity and respect
  3. Reflect upon personally held values and the impact they might have on practice, individual learning and own development.

  1. Identify strategies for enhancing dignity and respect accorded to people in a care setting.

Guidance

Your assignment should include: a title page containing your student number, the module name, the submission deadline and the exact word count of your submitted document; the appendices if relevant; and a reference list in (see referencing section for more information). You should address all the elements of the assignment task listed below. Please note that tutors will use the assessment criteria set out below in assessing your work.

You must not include your name in your submission because Arden University operates anonymous marking, which means that markers should not be aware of the identity of the student. However, please do not forget to include your STU number.

Assignment Task

Write a reflective essay, professionally exploring ethical and moral principles related to the practice of health and social care and examining personally held values.

The essay should discuss the impact these factors might have on practice, individual learning and development.

Consideration should be given to interpersonal skills and strategies for enhancing dignity and respect in health and care, demonstrating the learning outcomes for the module.

You should clearly outline your understanding and personally held values on freedom, rights, responsibilities, and power within the delivery of health and care.

You should discuss the concepts of compassion, dignity, and respect and how effective communication can enhance these concepts in practice.

Your assessment can be submitted as a singleWord (MS Word) or PDFfile, or, as multiple files.

If you chose to submit multiple files, you must name each document as the question/part you are answering along with your student number ie Q1 Section A STUXXXX.If you wish to overwrite your submission or one of your submissions, you must ensure that your new submission is named exactly the same as the previous in order for the system to overwrite it.
