Laboratory portfolio. Instructions for the file upload part of the canvas portfolio quizWhen you do the portfolio quiz in canvas you will be asked in one question to upload a document pre-prepared using data from the glucose assay part of the laboratory practical.
These are the instructions to prepare the document.
1. Using Microsoft excel plot your standard curve for the glucose assay. The standard curve should have a trendline that uses 0 as the intercept.
The data points should include the error bars using standard deviation as the measure of error. The x and Y axis should be labelled and the equation and R2 value for the trendline should be displayed.
2. The excel plot should then be exported or copied and pasted into a word document and a figure legend should be added to the document.
3. After this has been done the following questions should be answered. For the diagnosis questions below show your calculated values to 2 decimal places and the values of the reference ranges as part of the diagnosis.
A. What is the diagnosis for patient A?
B. What is the diagnosis for patient B?
C. What is the diagnosis for patient C?
D. Comment on how reliable do you think your results are?
E. What is the problem with the accuracy or validity of any readings that result in values greater than 10 mM glucose and how could this be addressed?
F. Why do you think it is good practice to randomize the order in which samples are read in the spectrophotometer?
