When looking at Social Problems we cannot ignore the three main theories of sociology to analyze those social problems. Functionalists focus on the
functions and dysfunctions of society, such as the high cost of health care and social security to future generations. Conflict theories focus on societies’
parts for limited resources or the creation of inequivalent such as richer vs. poorer. Symbolic Interactionist focuses on how certain groups are viewed or
labeled in our society and our behavioral response to those perspectives. We look at how it affects the changes/shifts and meaning behind why we interact
the way we do.

FORMAT:
APA Format, APA Style is widely used by students, researchers, and professionals in the social and behavioral sciences. An APA in-text citation consists of
the author’s last name and the year of publication (also known as the author-date system). If you’re citing a specific part of a source, you should also include
a locator such as a page number or timestamp. For example (Smith, 2020, p. 170) OR (Smith, 2021) if it is an online article.
This site can help with proper APA citation etc. https://www.scribbr.com/apa-citation-generator/#/ (Links to an external site.)
Font Size: 12 pt., double spaced, 1-inch margin
Font Style: Times New Roman
Page Length: Minimum 4 pages, NOT including Title Page or Reference Page, **Title Page and Reference Page must be properly included.
Resources: Proper resources should exclusively include scholarly articles/peer-reviewed articles/or sourced information from the textbook. If you use
sources from someone else’s personal experience, a personal interview should be referenced as a parenthetical citation. For example: (J. Smith, personal
communication, May 17, 2008). If you are using a personal experience (ethnomethodology) there is no need to cite that, but it must add leverage to a
sociological concept you are mentioning in the writing, otherwise, it may seem irrelevant to the paper.
Sociological Terms: Use 5 terms from the textbook associated with your chapter, please either underline, italicize, or make the terms font bold, As well as an
attached vocabulary page with the 5 terms and their definitions.
