Assignment: | Probing Equality and Diversity initiatives: A Deep Dive into International Human Resource Planning & Operations |
2300 ASSIGNMENT CONTEXT:
Human Resource Management (HRM) has seen progress embedding equality and diversity (E&D) initiatives in its policies over the years. Despite such record, HR professionals in today’s global world face the challenge of practically achieving these initiatives in key HRM areas in the workplace. Reiche et al (2022) suggested that ‘Different societal contexts may influence the way these ideas are understood and managed in workplaces’. There’s also the risk that E&D initiatives may not fully address barriers to inclusion. Social identity theory and other psychological theories suggest that individuals will assess their social environment to understand how they ‘fit’.
2300 ASSIGNMENT TASK:
Evaluate the equality and diversity initiatives of the human resource action plan for a multinational organisation operating in a specific country.
In your evaluation, consideration should be given to the effectiveness of E&D in ONE key HRM area (Examples: workplace demographics; recruitment; selection; training; reward/compensation; appraising performance; policies and procedures such as disciplinary policies)
