INDIVIDUAL ASSIGNMENT: ACT AS A LEADER OF AN ORGANIZATION
As part of this course, you will take on the role of the founder and leader of a fictional startup organization based in Qatar. In this individual assignment, you are expected to create a new business or organization and develop its core identity. This includes choosing a name, designing a logo, and formulating a clear vision, mission, and set of core values. You will also draft a five-year strategic plan that outlines your organization’s goals, strategic priorities, and key initiatives. It is essential that your strategy aligns with the Qatar National Vision 2030, particularly in areas such as innovation, sustainability, and the development of a knowledge-based economy. To guide and inspire your work, you are encouraged to explore the Qatar Science and Technology Park (QSTP) website or visit QSTP in person, located within Qatar Foundation. This will give you insights into existing startups and organizations that focus on research, development, and entrepreneurship in Qatar. In addition to the business plan, you will reflect on your leadership approach by identifying your leadership style and explaining how it will contribute to the success and direction of your organization. This assignment is designed to help you apply leadership and management theories in a practical context, encouraging creativity, critical thinking, and strategic planning skills. A copy of the Qatar National Vision 2030 document will be provided to support your strategic alignment.

1. Organization Identity

Choose a Name: Come up with a name that reflects the nature and goals of your organization.

Type of Business: Define the industry or sector your organization operates in (e.g., technology, education, retail, non-profit).

Design a Logo: Create a simple logo that represents your organization`s values and mission. You may draw it by hand or use design software.
2. Vision, Mission, and Values

Vision Statement: Write a compelling vision statement outlining what your organization aims to achieve in the long term (aspirational goals).

Mission Statement: Define the mission of your organization, explaining its purpose and primary objectives.
•
Values: List the core values that will guide your organization in decision-making and behavior.
3. 5-Year Strategic Plan

Develop a detailed strategic plan for your organization, outlining key objectives, goals, and initiatives for the next five years.

Your plan should cover areas like growth, innovation, workforce development, financial planning, and community impact. Consider both short-term and long-term goals.
