Integrative Paper Outline

Writing an integrative paper can be a daunting task. To help you get started, you will need to draft an outline of how you plan to approach the paper. You do not have to have your entire paper ready to be written, but you should select a client or agency in mind that will provide you with the information you need to complete each paper that is required.

It is recommended that you review the rubrics for each of the papers you will be writing this semester.

  • Take a look at the syllabus, assignment descriptions, and rubrics for each paper. This will help you to draft your outline. This should be a breakdown of what you plan to include or incorporate into your paper.
    • Once you identify the key sections and information to be included, begin to think about the references and resources you will need.
  • For each paper section in your outline, include a list of 5 or more resources (see required numbers for each section) you plan to use and include the citations in a reference page under each sample rubric that you can build upon as you write each paper this semester.

Use the template below to complete the outline assignment. The template is set up so you can compose directly onto the document, save, and upload as your assignment submission.

Rubric : Introduction, Outline, reference page, Apa formatting.

Note: This is a big paper that has been divided into parts. The outline is the first part that outlines each section for the rest of the paper to come.  Later each section will have it’s own paper based on this outline. Here’s what’s said to keep in mind.

Top 10 Things to Keep in Mind

As mentioned above, the Integrative Paper is different than other papers you’ve written in the MSW program so far. Here are the top 10 mistakes students make and how to avoid them.

  1. Write a paper about a population, not specific to the client. Substance abuse is a population of people that suffer from a disease. Not to be that general.,
  2. Write your papers in first person.,
  3. Use direct quotes. Lower level of writing and should not be used unless there are no other words to describe or capture the content.,
  4. Do not use the specific value or dilemma as stated in the NASW Code of Ethics.,
  5. Do not write the name of the social policy analysis model and cite.,
  6. Do not cite the specific engagement skills and use the concept of empathy not ie. empathetic responses.,
  7. Use engagement skills for practice skills that are not part of the practice theory selected.,
  8. Do not make sure that the tools to assess or information is consistent with the intervention goals and evaluation. Make sure all connect. You cannot evaluate something that was not assessed and part of the evaluation.,
  9. Do not reach out to professor if struggling. Here to help and everyone struggles with a part of the paper.
  10. Are not specific enough as to the evaluation plan and findings of the evaluation. How can you know if the intervention is working if the data is too general?

If it helps, this assignment is to better gear us to deal with the real population and should go hand in hand with the internship that we’re doing. Currently My internship is at a therapy wellness clinic and it’s called Center to Rise Wellness Spa Studio. You’ve wrote about it on my previous assignment as well.
