Overview
As you begin this class, it is important to understand key concepts in crisis, trauma and disaster mental health care as well as where you can locate resources to support clients.
For this assignment, you will need to create a 16-slide narrated PowerPoint presentation (PPT). PPTs generally use bulleted points containing important information. There should not be long sentences though sufficient detail along with expansion of the slide through the narration.
Introduction to Crisis and Trauma Counseling, Include the Following:
· Slide 1: Title Slide
· Slide 2: Define key concepts: crisis, stress, and trauma
· Slides 3: Define adaptation and coping
· Slide 4: Define resilience and trauma-informed approach
· Slide 5: Define disaster and clinical role (Using the Disaster Mental Health Service Guidebook)
· Slide 6: Compare and contrast crisis intervention and traditional counseling
· Slides 7-10: Using 4 different slides identify each of the 4 types of crises with an example for each. Within each of these slides, include a local resource and a national resource to support the identified type of crisis (not counseling related as you are the crisis counselor). Include the following information: name, address (need for local), phone number, website, type of service, criteria for services and financial cost, if applicable.

· Slides 14 -15: Key Characteristics & Helping Behaviors of Disaster Mental Health Workers (Using the Disaster Mental Health Service Guidebook)
· Slide 16: Reference slide will include only the Disaster Mental Health Service Guidebook and the Jackson-Cherry & Erford textbook
· Citation will be required at the bottom of each slide
· Each slide should be narrated expanding on the slide content
