Literature Review: Introduction and Outline

Purpose

This assignment is intended to help you learn to do the following:

· Draft the introduction of a literature review.

· Develop the outline of a literature review.

· Evaluate peers’ work.

Overview

This assignment includes two steps. First, you will develop the introduction and outline of your literature review. Then, you will provide feedback to a peer on their introduction and outline.

Step 1: Develop your introduction and outline

Draft the introduction and outline of your literature review according to the requirements as described in the “Introduction and Outline” section of the Literature Review Assignments and Peer Reviews page. You may also review the rubric in this assignment to see the criteria your peer will use to evaluate your work.

You must submit your own assignment before you can access a peer’s assignment for review.

Step 2: Provide feedback on a peer’s submission

After you submit your work, you will review a peer’s submission and provide them with feedback. Your instructor will assign peer review partners.

Make sure to review the rubric that your instructor will use to evaluate the feedback you provide to your peer. This is the rubric in the Peer Review Quality: Introduction and Outline assignment. This rubric will provide you with details on the type of feedback you are expected to provide to your peer. You need only provide qualitative comments and complete the rubric; you do not need to assign point values. Your qualitative comments should be substantive and have concrete focus on detail and suggestions for improvement.

In addition to the quality of your feedback, the rubric evaluates you on whether you submitted your own work on time. This is critical to keeping the peer review process on track.

Upon receiving feedback from the peer who reviewed your work, you will revise your work and submit a final draft to the Literature Review: Introduction and Outline Due assignment in Module 5. You will be awarded points for the quality of the feedback you provide in the Peer Review Quality: Introduction and Outline assignment in Module 4
