Look through LIRN and find scholarly articles which include a theory of interest to you and a testable or open hypothesis. Aim for finding an article in which some empirical implications can be tested. Select three articles which are closely related in topic and answer the following:
Which three articles did you select and why did you decide to focus on this topic?
How do these articles relate to each other? How do they differ?
How do these three articles relate to a potential research topic you are considering as the focus of your mini-research design in this course?
Choose one of the articles you selected and assess the weakness and strengths in terms of research design.
Note: If you do not have a clear idea yet of what area you would like to focus on, consider your personal and professional aspirations. Think about your personal and professional interests and about the factors which motivated you to start the program at this point of your career. What would you like to do with your degree? The answers to these questions may help you narrow down topics and areas of interest.
