Description:
Teacher candidates survey professional ethical principles, professional practice standards, law and regulations that guide special educators. Teacher candidates examine how to advocate for the profession in a variety of ways, including collaborating with all stakeholders to support students’ needs in the development of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and accommodating the general education curriculum to address the individual learning needs of students with mild to moderate disabilities. Emphasis will be placed on creating a developmentally appropriate and least restrictive environment that includes effective routines and procedures for students with exceptionalities. Practicum/field experience hours: None. Fingerprint clearance not required.
