Objectives:
- Discuss the mechanism of action, indications for use, and major adverse effects of selected drugs used to treat a variety of infections.
- Discuss the role of alternative and complementary therapies for a variety of infections.
- Identify client-related factors that influence the effects of drugs used to treat a variety of infections.
- Use the nursing process to determine safe care for a client who is receiving medications to treat a variety of infections.
- Examine factors leading to the development of antibiotic resistance.
