Course Objectives:
The following are the overall objectives for this course:
- Apply the nursing process to implement an evidence-based, client-centered plan of care for clients experiencing acute and chronic behavioral health issues.
- Examine the use of pharmacological, biological, integrative, and milieu therapy in the treatment of persons with behavioral health disorders and substance abuse.
- Integrate safety and continuous client quality improvement in coordinating for individuals and families experiencing behavioral health disruptions across all settings.
- Use educational strategies and community resources to provide information to individuals and families to promote overall emotional, spiritual, and physical health and self-care.
- Advocate for the rights of individuals, caregivers, and families affected by behavioral health disruptions.
