The evidence-based nursing process identifies a clinical issue and formulates the issue into a clinical question (hypothesis) that can be answered through research.
Choose one of the topics from the “Clinical Question Development Topics” resource and write 250-500 words, discussing the following:
- Identify and describe the problem as represented by the PICOT question.
- What population does the problem affect?
- What is the intervention to address the problem?
- What is (are) the alternative intervention(s) that is (are) used for comparison?
- What is the desired outcome?
- Is there a time involved? Is that time sufficient to answer the question?
- Why would this information be helpful to members of the health care team?
APA style is not required, but solid academic writing is expected.
