Assessment Description
In a paper of 750-1,000 words, synthesize the information from the Table of Evidence you created for your PICOT question into a literature review. Do not discuss each article separately. In the literature review, provide an overview for the reader that illustrates the research related to your particular PICOT question. Include the following:
- Introduction: Describe the clinical issue or problem you are addressing.
- Methods: Describe the criteria you used in choosing your articles.
- Synthesis of Literature: Compare and contrast the main components of each article (subjects, methods, key findings) and provide rationale for how this supports your PICOT question.
- Areas of Further Study: Analyze the evidence presented in your articles to identify what is known, unknown, and needed for further study.
Use the three peer-reviewed primary source research articles from the Table of Evidence in Topic 9. These articles should be either qualitative or quantitative; they should not be a literature review, meta-analysis, or a systematic review. You may use either peer-reviewed health care or nursing journals. The peer-reviewed articles must have been published within the last 5 years.
