Persuading Through Social Media Impact

The purpose of this speech is to persuade your audience about a question of fact, value, or policy. This speech will require considerable research and skillful use of the methods of persuasion. Special emphasis should be given to evidence and reasoning. This is also an excellent assignment for stressing audience analysis and adaptation. You are encouraged to select topics that are useful and interesting.

If you speak on a question of fact you will need to give special attention to evidence and reasoning. Speak on a question of value you must be sure to identify your standards for judgment and justify your value judgment in light of those standards. If you speak on a question of policy be sure to acknowledge any opposing viewpoints or opinions. The speech should be delivered extemporaneously from the brief speaking outline.

The format for the Persuasive speech is VERY specific. While the book discusses several formats, I require a specific one: Monroe’s Motivated Sequence. That format is the criteria by which your speech and outline will be graded! Read it carefully! Must be perfect work.

1. Main Point – Establish the need or problem. The main point sentence should be a complete declarative sentence.,

1. Supporting Point: Present evidence.

2. Supporting Point: Make sure you have sound reasoning.,

   1. Sub-Supporting Point: Each point needs to have at least one source.

   2. Sub-Supporting Point:APA
