Purpose: The purpose of this assignment is for you to critically analyze a peer-reviewed academic journal article relevant to your research question identified in Assignment 1. This article should be a quantitative or qualitative study that includes the components listed below (research question, hypothesis, sample size characteristics and variables – methodology – and findings). You may use the article analyzed here for Assignment 3.
The completed assignment should be 3 pages (the body of the work, not including the title page or references) and should include:
1) The Research Question of the study. Sometimes you have to infer this; it won’t be stated directly. Be sure to put it in the form of a question.
2). Authors’ Hypothesis. You may have to infer this as well.
3) Clear statement of how this article is relevant to your research project’s thesis/research statement/question.
4) Sample size and Sample Characteristics (the sample consisted of 2,743 [size] White juvenile defendants accused of murder [characteristics] and 2,689 Black juvenile defendants accused of murder).
5). Identification of key Independent Variable(s) and Dependent Variable(s).
6) Key Findings.
