Capstone Project Management PlanPROJ6016 Project Management Capstone COlympic Dam- Open Cut ExpansionOne – Project PlanSubmitted by Sameer Khan PathanStudent ID: A00026201Submitted to Krystyna PaszkiewiczAssessment 1 ProjectplanCapstone Project Management PlanProject Plan OverviewThis documents’ purpose is the specification of the project plan related to the expansion of the OlympicDam situated in South Australia. The planning and investigation of an effective project plan must bedone in accordance with the case study. It comprises the analysis of the stakeholders involved withthe project and also analysing their roles and responsibilities and key project deliverables. TheOlympic Dam has been a major source of copper and related products in South Australia; however, the consumption is not in accordance to the needs. The research done in the area revealed that theexpansion of the site can increase the output of the resources and can contribute towards rectifyingthe issues of unemployment along with production of fewer resources. This project proposal is done so that I can understand the mining industry in a deep manner so that Iwill not face any future issues if I work in the same industry or any other specific field that wouldrequire a project management plan for any expansion. Currently, my understanding regarding the businessprocesses, stakeholders of a project, etc is very little. However, this understanding received from thestudy will help me with all areas of a project, and will help me deliver better results in any area I willwork in (Flores et al., 2020). It is also be assumed that the team will get all the required resources, and will do their work without any mistake.Actions required to mitigate the risk based on an assumption:The risks related to the project can be mitigated by updating the project task and risk logs regularlyfor specifying the project assumption ownership. Also, the most important task is to perform a riskanalysis that will help in determination of schedule and budget constraints regarding the project.Success Criteria:The project success criteria is dependent on 3 main factors which are listed below –o Effective Project Audit and Financial Estimationo Business level Satisfaction and Positive Reviewso Timely completion of the ProjectKey Resources:The resources associated with the project are –– Company – BHP Billiton– Project Manager– Data Analyst Capstone Project Management Plan – Laptops and PCs– Machinery– Internet Connection– Meeting RoomsPROJECT SCHEDULEEstimated duration – 40 daysMilestone DateProject Research 17-04-21Project Charter Development 20-04-21Project Management Plan Development 27-04-21Analysis and Research 30-05-21Business Plan Documentation 20-05-21Manage and improve performance 25-05-21Close project 27-05-21 Capstone Project Management Plan Fig 2 – Olympic Dam Expansion Gantt Chart Timeline (Self-developed) Capstone Project Management Plan RISK PLANRisk id Risk Type Details of theRiskManagementbyLikelihoodandConsequenceRisk treatment#1 Risksrelated toTimeline–This risk relatedto time andschedule willarrive when thestakeholders ofthe project takeextra time forcompletion ofthe tasks andalso do notfollow thetimelineeffectivelyProjectManagerModerateand High- Conduction of regularreviews– Timelymeetings with thestakeholders– TimelineSheetPreparation#2 BudgetRisksThese risks willoccur when thebudgetcalculation is notdone effectivelyand exceeds thetotal estimationby huge percent.ProjectManagerHigh forboth- Effectivebudget planning– Properlydescribing eachtask andplanning thecosts accordingly#3 Operational RisksThese risk typesoccur when theallocated tasksare notperformedeffectively by theresourcesProjectManagerModerateand High- EffectiveResourceSelection– ProperTrainingprovision to theresources at theinitial level of theproject Capstone Project Management Plan STAKEHOLDERS AND COMMUNICATION PLANInternalStakeholder Impact/Interest in theprojectWhat are theirinformation needsHow & when will weprovide them projectinformationCompany –BHP BillitonHigh/high The project managerwill be in need of thefollowing information:– FinancialResource Information– CompanyDetails– ProjectExpansion details– StakeholderInformationThe projectinformation will beprovided to thecompany owner in theProject BusinessPlanning Phase sothat the plan can beprepared effectively.ProjectManagerHigh/Low Status of the Projectand Details of thetasks allocated andthe respective outputThe detailedinformation regardingthe project status andtask allocation will begiven to the projectmanager in every 15days via Skype andemail.ProjectManagerHigh/Low The project deliverableinformation and thevision of the companyalong with the keypoints related to theprojectThe information will begiven to the ProjectManager through 2ways:– Stakeholdermeetings– Personalmeeting with companyowner– DocumentProvision (Pizarro et al.,2018) Capstone Project Management Plan ExternalStakeholder Impact/Interest in theprojectWhat are theirinformation needsHow & when will weprovide them projectinformationData Analyst Low/low The data analyst willbe requiring thefollowing information:– ParticipatingStakeholders in theProject– DetailedInformation of theStakeholders’ Rolesand Responsibilities– Project Scope– Business PlanDraft– Type of DataResearch InformationThe data analyst andproject manager willhave a communicationas well as discussionregarding the projectplan in order for clearlydiscussing about thedetails of the role andalso the informationrequiredStakeholder matrix Capstone Project Management Plan Fig 3 – Power Grid (Self-developed)PROJECT QUALITYQualityThe showcase regarding the quality of the project is done on the basis of effectiveness of the projectas well as its deliverables. They are the scope of the project and nothing else. Please consider the risks – these are the risks of the capstone project, the research and the report thatyou are preparing. There are no other relevant risks and the risks need to be specific to your capstoneproject, not general, and not as they relate to the Olympic Dam Extension. So I think the key learning is identifying what is your project, who are your stakeholders for thiscapstone research project, who are the project team members for this, what is the WBS and theschedule for the capstone research project (not the Olympic Dam Expansion). What are themilestones for your project? Your status report will be mapped to your milestones and yourCapstone Project Management Plandeliverables. The entire project plan needs to be reviewed and updated so that it is only related toyour capstone research project. I have marked up this document with feedback, please review this aswell, and return this project plan, corrected and updated so that it is related only to the capstoneproject, and does not add in outcomes that may be related to the Olympic Dam Extension.I hope that this is now clearer. Please advise me if you are still confused,
