I have provided a brief guidance on your research topic, aim, objectives, research questions and literature review.  Note: This is just guidance, please, contact to share your ideas and any progress so, you could proceed further Word length 3000 (10%+/-)  Research Topic: You must select the topic for your research that we have covered in Global Economies early weeks (for example, globalisation, world economy, international business environment, global business issues, global cultural perspectives, multinational enterprise, working across cultures and managing across cultures) Guidance: you must formulate your research topic to provide a clarity and always start with ‘ing’ doing verb (for example, analysing, identifying, exploring, applying, examining, etc.) Example: ‘Identifying the impact of corporate social responsibility (CSR) towards organisational sustainability: A case study of Marks & Spencer (UK)’ In above example, we have dependant and independent variables ‘CSR’ and its impact towards organisation success (it means organisation can achieve success if have successful CSR policies) Play Video A video to watch for a good research topic Introduction Section 1.1.         Background: In this section you should follow the points: –       Introduce your role as a Senior Strategist by a UK-based global company (such as Marks and Spencer) –       Your role must ensure that your selected company has effective entry strategies to maintain and sustain its competitive advantage –       Organisational background (brief) with justification ‘why selected this organisation and if any problem that needs to be resolved?’  1.2.         Aim and Objectives Aim: This should be related to your title (check the example, I have shared above in writing title). For example, the aim of this research is identifying the impact of marks and spencer’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) towards sustaining organisational success. Objectives: the objectives need to be linked with your research topic and aim, for example; –       To identify the significance of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) –       To examine the impact of CSR towards organisational success –       To analyse the organisational sustainability with or without CSR policies –       To recommend Marks & Spencer to improve the application of CSR policies Research Questions: These questions will be explored in the literature review section Lead Question (aligned with your aim) What is the impact of Corporate Social Responsibility to achieve the organisational sustainability? Probing questions: (aligned with each objective) –       What is the importance of CSR? –       What is the relationship between good CSR policy and organisational success? –       How CSR could help organisation to sustain competitive position? –       What are the recommendations for Marks & Spencer (UK) to improve CSR policy? Literature Review Section In this section, you are required to provide the existing literature, case study, reports to explore the research questions. For example, I have shared ‘CSR and organisational sustainability’ as an exemplary topic, the literature will be focused on different aspects of CSR: Literature review refers to all the secondary sources related to the topic. It is important to structure the argument intelligently so that the reader can grasp the argument in relation to others, while showing that your work is original and creative. Literature should include both supporting material and disagreements.  You must cite the sources you used in supporting your proposal. You must use the Harvard citation system, which is available in the ICON VLE. You can use ‘Google Books, Google Scholar, organisational website, annual reports, journals, conference papers, etc.’ to get the academic database. We will be starting Research Methodology from Week 7, till then focus on the above mentioned points
