Assignment Details

Submission Deadline: Monday 7thApril 2025 by 9am

Four photographs have been provided (and located in the Assessment Guidance folder on Moodle);

You are required to select one photograph and complete the Applied Report;

A template with instructions is provided;

Using the photograph, you will be required to complete a Social Psychology applied report and develop your answers from the application of a minimum of three different Social Psychology theories covered in this module;

The theories must be from different topics (different lecture sessions) within the module;

You will also be required to critically consider contemporary Social Psychology research literature;

Report Headings:

– Narrative (200 Words);
– Social Theory 1 and Application (500 Words);
– Social Theory 2 and Application (500 Words);
– Social Theory 3 and Application (500 Words);
– Critical Evaluation of Theories (600 Words);
– Future Recommendations (200 Words);

This literature research should provide further knowledge (and further evidence) on the behaviour(s) you are discussing in accordance with your Social Psychology Theory;

Section 5: Critical Evaluation of Social Psychology Theories 1, 2, and 3

You need to clarify and explain the events shown in your photograph by comparing the three Social Psychology Theories that you have previously discussed.

By critically evaluating these, you should also draw on the strengths and weaknesses of each Social Psychology Theory.

You should also include contemporary, relevant social psychology based (the last 3 years) research evidence literature and examples in your answer;

You may wish to bring in another Social Psychology Theory here to support your critical evaluation;

You should reflect and think about how the Social Psychology Theories that you have discussed could be further developed and enhanced to impact the behaviours depicted in the future;

Writing Style:

No bullet points or numbering of sentences/points should be used;

You must present fully formed sentences and paragraphs;

Ensure to constantly proofread your work prior to submitting;

Font: Arial 12;

Spacing: Double line spaced;

Referencing and In-Text Citations:

• You must follow the APA guidelines for both in-text citations and in the References section;
• Note: failure to do these correctly reduces the quality of your work and results in a lack of clarity;
• You need to support all of your written work with an appropriate citation;
• You should only be referencing material that is psychology based;
• Direct quotations from literature will not be awarded any marks;
• Any time you are referring to ‘previous studies’ or ‘previous research’ throughout your report, you should always cite the studies or research you are referring to;
• Otherwise, it is unclear what is your work and what was taken from other research;
• Ensure that the full name of the theory and citation of theory is provided every time you refer to it;
• Contemporary, relevant social psychology based (the last 3 years) research evidence literature;
• Your theories will be from their original authors (older and not within the last 3 years);
• You should not be referencing inappropriate material such as websites (for example, Wikipedia etc.), magazines etc;
