They started the journey back in 1998, and now they have grown more significant with more than 18000 customers and running with global offices located in 7 countries. There are 5000 Atlassian’s worldwide providing quality services to its consumers. The company believes in creating a sustainable environment that brings out the authentic selves into work (Atlassian, 2021a). The recent pandemic caused by the Covid-19 virus has disrupted the economic conditions globally that has affected every business sector. Atlassian is also a victim of the economic downfall, and the company must formulate a recovery plan to combat this dreadful financial condition. This report will focus on the strategies used by the company to deal with the crisis and find out effective solutions using the rich picture and CATWOE analysis. 2. Current Challenges & issues faced by the organization The Covid-19 pandemic has created a problematic situation in the company, and it is having a long-term effect on the financial conditions of the company. The motto of timely delivery of quality products and services to its customers is paramount for the organization, but travel restrictions and ongoing lockdown is harming the company. The company has landed up in a situation like never before, and they have to stop all business-related non-essential travels. But a considerable number of people working remotely has created challenges for them. The organization has launched Remote Work Hub that has helped in collaboration and communication of employees to work remotely and remain effective for the product development process (Atlassian, 2021b). 3. Consequences on the Stakeholders The consequences of the stakeholders will be affected through feedback collection. The primary stakeholders are the employees and the consumers. The employees are allowed to work from home as the company believes in the safety and security of their employees. In this Covid-19 crisis, they are not encouraging any physical visit to the office, ensuring the safety and well-being of employees, families, and communities (Atlassian, 2021b). Work from has been a challenging situation for the employees as staying at a distance is bringing fatigue, anxiety in the workers. Customers face challenges due to frequent lockdown, and increased use of software-based services is creating more crisis for the company. The differences between office and work are a blur, and it is increasing working hours to remain extra productive. Consumers are suffering from the Covid-19 pandemic, and their affinity towards software-based systems is creating added pressure on the company. 4. Role of System thinking to handle the issues For risk assessment and risk perception related to behavioural decision making, the system thinking approach is helpful where system one and system 2 thinking both are relevant. System 1 is quick and instinctive, while system 2 is more logical and deliberative (Aven, 2018). The system thinking approach can be effective in dealing with the ongoing crisis in Atlassian. Using system thinking, one can identify the methods of dealing with the financial issues and productivity factors of the employees while following the work from home norms. System thinking can not only identify the strategies for overall development, but it can also give solutions for dealing with customer values and demands. System thinking will provide ideas to face the challenges of stakeholders like consumers, customers in this lockdown situation and trade barriers in a global context. The Atlassian is having trouble dealing with working from home, which can be solved using System Thinking. 4.1 Rich Picture The system thinking approach has several tools, and one of them is a rich picture tool. The rich picture emerges from collecting information and integration data from various groups exploring issues, questions, or problems (Bell, Berg & Morse, 2019). The rich picture tool is the most effective form of tool that provided a graphical representation of the organizational structure and the implication of changes on it. A rich picture is a system thinking tool that helps make sense of complex conditions (Conte & Davidson, 2020). Using this tool, Atlassian can identify its significant issues in the Covid-19 pandemic and the methods of dealing with the stakeholder challenges. The problem of dealing with productivity issues and customer satisfaction can be solved by formulating strategies using a rich picture tool. 4.2 Root definition Report using CATWOE Analysis. The system thinking process will help in identifying the solutions of current challenges, and CATWOE analysis will help in identifying understanding the effect of the changes and how it will help to continue the production. System Dynamics (SD) and Group Concept Mapping (GCM) can be combined to form a basis of system thinking to deal with challenges of program planning and evaluation (Hassmiller Lich et al. 2017). Recommended Solutions The recommended solution for ensuring a successful running of work from home policy is to use proper tools and technologies so that the employees can connect and communicate seamlessly with the team members. It is essential to give them support through appropriate facilities at their home and try to maintain a balanced work culture even at home. The increasing demand of the consumers, emerging technologies, and growing competition in the global framework forces software development companies to introduce new projects for attaining competitive advantages. Every face-to-face meeting must be avoided, and remote assistance using digital technology is the solution. The covid-19 pandemic has affected the social and economic conditions where no country has remained unaffected. It has changed consumer behaviour and how business act (Donthu & Gustafsson, 2020). The company must follow the norms of the government and try to provide an adequate number of devices so that the employee ergonomics are adequately maintained. Customer satisfaction is achieved through online feedback mechanisms and dealing with their requirements within a limited period. 6. Conclusion Covid-19 has created a disastrous situation all over the world, leading to economic crisis and change in the context of doing business. The concept of new normal has impacted business essentially as people are more interested in staying at home instead of physical visiting places. Atlassian has also faced a more significant challenge in dealing with Covid-19, where they have introduced a work from home strategy for almost all the employees in their workplace. But handling a large section of a job remotely is a challenging task where employee satisfaction and mindset to continue job from home comes into play. In this report, a system thinking approach is used to identify the challenges related to the safety of the organization and continue productivity is determined.
