Paper Review – Statistical Grading Criteria
Note that the Statistics and Ethics components are marked separately and so each should be self-contained. In particular, you need an appropriate overview of the study for each component.
• For the Brief Overview, give a few sentences describing the study so that the null hypothesis and conclusion below have a clear context.
• For the remaining parts of the statistics component, focus on one use of hypothesis testing in the paper. Use the form “Edit Paper Review” to complete the sentences. This form only becomes available to you after registering your paper so please do that as early as possible.
• The “conclusion” relates to the hypothesis test associated with the selected P-value. It is not the conclusion of the paper which may be different. Your conclusion should include the strength of evidence provided by the P-value. Avoid referring to “statistical significance”.
