Task Description:
You will select a significant theme from the novel and explain how this theme is highlighted and emphasized throughout the novel. In proper essay analytical format, you will develop a thesis stating the theme and how it is presented in the novel. This process will also assist you in your discussion at the Book Fair. You will examine in close detail how the theme is relevant to any of, but not limited to, the following possible areas of discussion:
relates a character’s personality, actions, or words to the theme
shows how interaction among characters develops the theme
describes an incident in the novel’s plot that clearly relates to the theme
reveals how the author’s use of description (writing style) makes the theme apparent
Length: This Analytical Checkpoint will be approximately 1000 words in length.

Include a minimum of three quotations from the novel cited according to MLA style

This Checkpoint is a part of your Culminating Task and the evaluation will be considered as part of your final mark.
