This research guide for our assignment compares two articles:
one article that is more popular (Reporters, journalists, professionals, company employees, or anyone) and
one article that is more scholarly (University, academic press, sometimes government).
Once you have found the two articles (one that’s more popular, one that’s more scholarly), we will compare characteristics of those two articles:
1. Author credentials (What are their educational credentials and affiliations? What experience do they have writing about this topic?)
2. Audience (Who is the intended audience? Consider language/jargon, concepts).
3. Purpose (Why was the article written?)
