The Impact of the Value Added Tax (VAT) on UK’s Economic Growth . The Aim ( should be enhanced) The aim of this research study is to investigate and analyse the relationship between the VAT and economic growth in the UK in order to evaluate its contribution as a key source of government revenue, which will increase the revenue base of government and make fund available for developmental purposes and ultimately accelerate economic growth. The Objectives ( initial should be elaborated more) • To discuss the key factors affecting countries’ economic growth • To discuss the characteristic features of VAT in order to increase the revenue • To examine the structure of the VAT system in the UK • To evaluate the revenue performance of VAT in UK during the period 2010 to 2020 The requirements should cover : o Chapter 1. Introduction (approx. 500 words) o introduce the topic (what is it that this research is about) and clarify the significance of the topic. The section should include the following: ? 1.1. Research Background: This introduces the problem or the situation, and the context. ? 1.2. Rationale for the study: • What is the research issue? • Why is it an issue, and why now? • How and when it is going to be investigated? • What could this research shed light on? – (benefits/ implications of the study) ? 1.3. Research Aim – overall aim of the research ? 1.4. Research objectives – what the study will be doing to achieve the aim ? 1.5. Research outline – here it will let the reader know what is covered in each chapter of the research project. o Chapter 2. Literature review (approx. 1500 words) The aim of a literature review is to show the reader a good grasp of, the main published work concerning the particular topic and the question in the field. This work may be in any format, including online sources (but they have to be reputable sources). The literature review will be guided by the research objectives and by the issue the thesis is arguing and will provide the framework for the further work. In this chapter you must provide evidence of adequate theoretical literature review drawn from academic journals and sources. o Literature review should cover the following o National income sources and the economic growth (short and long ) and key factors . o VAT definition and its features o Examining different Vat system in other country . o Discuss the academic review on the VAT and the VAT SYSTEM and it contribution to the national income .
