This final week your DB prompt will consist of three parts. First, you will think about and discuss this week’s readings on intervention and prevention for VMIR. Then, you will review your first DB post in the class and reflect upon/discuss what you learned.
Consider the readings and the videos for this module. Citing where appropriate, please respond to the following:
Part 1:
List, describe and explain 2-3 ways that we can move beyond the individual victim/perpetrator model to address domestic violence/VMIR as part of a larger social problem that stems from a culture of violence.
Part II:
Describe Goodmark’s approach to justice for domestic violence survivors). Be sure to watch the 5 min HBO video on Restorative Justice as Goodmark is interviewed there as well.
What’s wrong with the current criminal justice system, according to the author, and what is the solution?
Part III:
Reflect back on this course, review your answers in your initial DB re: the definition of DV/VMIR and discuss what about your definition changed, altered or expanded (5pts):
