Students will be given a contemporary topic and asked to analyze certain HR issues, bringing in relevant theories.
Word Limit: 1500 words (excluding executive summary, table of contents, and references)
A report format is required, including the following sections:

Topic: Strategic Human Resource Planning in the Age of AI – Industry Transformations
This topic explores how strategic human resource planning must evolve in response to AI and robotic technologies, focusing on their impact across the health, retail, education, and hospitality sectors.
The last two decades have seen a major transformation in the way we work, driven mostly by the Internet of Things (IoT) and the e-economy. Technological advances such as AI have contributed to employment growth, particularly in the gig economy through platforms like Uber and Airtasker. While AI and machine learning offer potential applications in HRM, concerns remain around accountability issues, such as privacy and the potential for bias (Nankervis et al., 2023).

- Industry Impacts and HR Automation
- How are AI and robotic technologies likely to transform jobs in the health, retail, education, or hospitality sectors (choose ONLY one sector)?
- What HR tasks could be automated to better manage these workforce transitions?
- Employee Concerns and Strategic Planning
- What concerns might employees in these sectors have about AI technologies being introduced in both their jobs and HR processes (e.g., recruitment)?
- How can strategic HR planning address these concerns?
- Maximizing Benefits and Fairness
- How can HR professionals develop strategic plans that both maximize the advantages of new technologies and ensure HR processes remain fair and consistent for all employees during industry transformations?
Presentation Requirements
- Use peer-reviewed academic journal articles, business reports, and reputable websites as sources.
- A minimum of 10 references, including at least 5 academic journals.
- Use APA 7 reference style throughout the report and reference list: APA 7 Guide.
- Formatting: Times New Roman or Arial, 12-point font, 1.5 line spacing.
- Ensure grammar and spelling are checked before submission.
- Submit as a Word document.
