Planning and Execution of a Base Maintenance Visit for a Boeing Converted Freighter 737-
82R(BCF) Aircraft
You are part of the Production Planning team at an MRO facility.
Your team has been contracted to perform a base maintenance visit (C-check) on a 73782R(BCF) aircraft. The aircraft is a mid-to-late-life freighter, operating is short-haul in the UK and Europe.
You will need to familiarise yourself with the following documents:
- An Approved 737-82R(BCF) Maintenance Programme (AMP).
- A sample aircraft utilization profile (FH/FC/calendar).
- The C check schedule and AMM refernces as per the MPD.
- Access to the AMM and Boeing Taskcards You have been requested to create the following:
- Bill of Work (recommend excel / table format)
- Bill of Material (rotables)
- Initial maintenance work package (consider taskcards)
- Supporting documentation for the visit.
Using the provided documents;
- Extract the scheduled maintenance tasks from the AMP relevant to the upcoming Ccheck.
- Identify tasks by type: System & Powerplant, Zonal, and Structural.
- Remember to include CMR and AWL tasks due at this interval.
- Identify which tasks will require tooling and test equipment.
- Group tasks into logical work packages based on access requirements, manpower, and tooling.
- Identify tasks requiring special procedures (e.g., NDT, corrosion inspections).
- Include an estimated man-hours and required skill levels. (Including buffer)
- Suggest which tasks if they had non-routine findings could impact the planned TAT and CRS date.
- Propose contingency plans for common discrepancies (e.g., corrosion, wiring damage, component wear).
- Estimate how long you would require the aircraft to be in a hangar
- Forecast required rotables.
- Describe five (5) potential challenges you may face while the aircraft is in on check and what contingency plans you could put in place.
- Ensure all tasks are traceable to AMP, MPD, and regulatory requirements.
- Include references to manuals (AMM, SRM, IPC, etc.) used in task planning.
