Diploma in Professional Interior Design
Understanding the Assignment
It is important that you read all contents of the unit before attempting any assignments. This will help you to understand how much work is involved so you can plan your time accordingly.
Unit 5 introduces you to a range of furniture and accessories styles throughout the history of interior design. You will build on this knowledge by exploring contemporary styles, and develop the skills necessary to select appropriate furniture and accessories for a client.
You will be assessed on the ‘Standards and Assessment Requirements’ which can be found below the assignment tasks. By completing the assignment task to the required level, you will meet all ‘Standards and Assessment Requirements’.
Plagiarism
Plagiarism undermines academic integrity and prevents genuine learning. Submitting someone else’s work as your own violates ethical standards and hinders critical thinking. We value originality because independent research and analysis are key to personal and professional growth. Plagiarism can lead to severe consequences, including an academic failure and even removal from your course. By citing sources properly and producing original work, students uphold academic honesty and fully benefit from their education.
This includes the appropriate use of AI and referencing if and where it has been utilised within your work. In line with University policy, you should discuss the use of AI with your tutor before proceeding, to ensure you are working within the guidelines. Using AI inappropriately and not acknowledged is classed as plagiarism.
For further information around understanding plagiarism, please refer to the video titled ‘What is Plagiarism’ located in the ‘Introduction to your course’ module.
