Overview
Bernie and Rita Turner set out to create a learning environment in 1970 where knowledge might be used to address significant societal problems. Their goal is to equip students with the tools they need to take on such challenges locally, professionally, and globally. Walden is still grounded in a desire to see constructive social change today.
We are not simply talking about it; it is who we are. Online education has developed to support enthusiastic individuals in transforming their own lives and the lives of others. Every day, our students, alumni, teachers, and staff work to carry out our mission by producing tangible instances of social change in their neighborhoods and beyond.
Mission
