Define the Learning Environment
What time and place did the event take place? How long was it involved? What job or function did you hold? Who else was a part of it? This background knowledge will provide you a specific point of reference that will enable you to put your article into context. At least two to three complete sentences should be present in this area.
2. Describe the principle of learning.
The fundamental knowledge that corresponds with the essay topic of choice is known as the Learning Principle. You may wish to read and study a variety of materials before beginning to write your essay. You can do primary and secondary research using books, periodicals, videos, recordings, interviews, etc. This will jog your memory, bring to mind specifics of a learning event, and explain the underlying idea.
Describe the central idea of the learning principle as it explicitly pertains to what you learnt in at least one paragraph, preferably two, and at least three complete sentences. Include a paragraph outlining the concept that makes it different from a subject you just know the very minimum of and explains why it qualifies as college-level study. For instance, you could have a passing familiarity with the value of time management, but in order for this to be regarded as college-level learning, you must describe what you learned, highlighting sub-points and related features that show a deeper familiarity with the learning principle.
3. Applying the Principle Outside of the Experienced Setting
Describe your subject-area competency, or the level of knowledge or skill that enables you to function successfully. Write competency statements that connect to the course description and represent your unique learning experience.
• I discovered how to cultivate and put active listening skills to work. (Skill)
• I gained knowledge on how to spot and get around obstacles to productive professional communication. (Knowledge)
The easier it will be to analyze your experience for credit, the more specific you may be in establishing your abilities and learning outcomes.
Saying that you “learned to communicate” is a generalization; more accurate, appropriate expressions are “you learnt that you cannot assume that everyone knows what you are saying” or “nonverbal symbols may convey as loudly as the spoken word.” Additionally, your specificity helps assessors gauge your degree of proficiency.
The information and abilities that have been gained in a subject field can be classified on a variety of levels of competence. Keep in mind how crucial it is to mix theoretical and practical learning. Your essay should ideally blend the two together. When writing on motivation, for instance, you may explore the main theories of motivation.
– The Motivation-Maintenance Model of Herzberg, Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, or Vroom’s Expectancy Theory
– in light of what you have discovered throughout your time as a manager. What are the similarities and differences between your experiential learning and the prevailing theory in that field? What challenges did you find with staff motivation?
To demonstrate your knowledge of and grasp of theoretical topics, use examples from your personal experiences. This part should have a minimum of four paragraphs with five sentences each.
4. Conclusion
• Condense the first three sections into at least two paragraphs, each including about five sentences. Include a paragraph that ties your understanding of this concept to a Christian worldview and way of living. A thorough explanation of how a Christian worldview interacts with the knowledge and its application in a larger context must be included in the conclusion.
For instance, the conclusion of a course on time management may contain a sentence like this. “I have been more productive in all area of my life as a result of learning how to better manage my time. The fact that we all have the same amount of time each day and a finite amount of time on this planet has also been brought to my attention.
Because of this I am more conscious of the importance of valuing the people in my life and being a better example to them of Christ’s love in everything I do.”
