care, and decision-support system technologies in improving patient care outcomes and creating a safe care
environment.

Choose one of the vignettes in Chapter 10 and review the Nursing as Caring figure (4.1) on page 81. After
reviewing the vignette, look at the figure to help you answer the following 7 questions in your paper:
• What was the machine technology?
• What level of technical competence was required by the nurse?
• How did it affect the care that was provided?
• How did it influence decision making for the patient’s care?
• How did the technology improve the patient’s outcome/s?
• What action did the nurse display/provide to show caring?
• How did the nurse integrate the technology information into caring?
