When completing this assignment, use pages 113-119 in The Writer’s Practice.
The purpose of this assignment is to help you practice writing an argumentative essay by backing up your claims with evidence.
Considering your Audience is that described on page 114, submit a document that has the following:
1. Include a short answer (a sentence or two) for each of Process steps 1-6 (pgs. 115-117). For step 5, just an outline is fine.
2. Complete Process step 8 (pg. 117). Focus especially on the material on paragraphs that we discussed in lecture.
3. Briefly complete the Reflect assignment on pg. 118.
The attached rubric is a specifications grading rubric. The criteria on the rubric will allow the grader to decide whether or not you have displayed mastery in your use of Standard Edited Written English, sentence structure, and paragraph construction. They will also evaluate whether you have met the goals of the assignment. See the Student Grade Tracker for information on how your score on this rubric contributes to your course grade.

This writing assignment is eligible for a “free” resubmission. This resubmission must be accompanied by a two-paragraph summary that explains the feedback you received on the initial submission (paragraph 1) and how you incorporated it into the revised resubmission (paragraph 2). Without this summary, your TA will not regrade your assignment. The resubmissions need to be uploaded as a second submission to this assignment page no later than 2 weeks after the original assignment was due. After that date, the submission page will no longer be available and you will not be able to resubmit.
