The desire to follow Jesus’ example has permeated much Christian literature through the millenia. An obvious example is The Imitation of Christ by Thomas á Kempis in the fifteenth century. In this paper you will present biblical references pertaining to following Jesus’ example plus analyze Charles Sheldon’s In His Steps: What Would Jesus Do? Although he did not originate the phrase of “What would Jesus do?”, he did popularize it.
