Scenario
You are a fresh graduate nurse caring for a patient who has a positive genetic or genomic testing result. As a general nurse in genetic and genomic care, you will be responsible for providing correct information, ensuring proper patient referral, and acting as a patient champion.
Instructions
Create a plan of care for a client who gets a positive result from a genetic or genomic testing technology that you describe, including nursing practices that include genetic and genomic risk factors, three interprofessional resources, and three referral resources.
Your care plan will be delivered in the form of a Word document that comprises the following sections:
Explain a certain genetic or genomic testing technique Describe what positive testing findings suggest Create a plan of nursing care measures based on positive results
Describe three interprofessional resources for clients with genetic and genomic requirements while planning care.
Determine three resources to help with genetic and genomic referrals.
