This is an individual assignment, topics covering Competency 1 – Perform a Category Sales Analysis and Present Findings on Performance.
You are the team leader of a department in your store and have been given the company’s sales reports from the company’s system.
- Assess the performance of store sales according to the different merchandising levels; and
- Suggest recommendations based on findings developed from performance review.
Assignment 1 is to be assessed based on:
- Apply basic data cleansing on a given data set; o Create charts using a given data set;
- Ability to use charts to identify areas of further analysis;
- Ability to identify cause of performance with appropriate use of other types of reports; and
- Ability to make recommendations to improve future performance.
Guidelines Of Report Structure And Format
Each student must submit a type-written report, which should contain:
- Cover Page
- Acknowledgement
- Table of Contents
- Introduction
- Body of Report
- Conclusion / Learning points
- Referencing
Report length
- Maximum of 800 words, excluding cover page, acknowledgement, table of contents and referencing.

- Students’ full name
- NRIC (last 4 characters)
- Index number
Paper
- Size A4
- White colour
Margin
- Centered with 1 inch left and right margins
- Top and bottom margins may be 1 inch
Line spacing
- 1½-spaced (for data and information)
Font
- Arial, Size 12
Page number
- Each page of text must be numbered except for the cover page and the content page.
Report submission
- The report shall be submitted by the due date as determined by the Lecturer assigned.
