Touchstone 2.2: Draft an Essay
ASSIGNMENT: You began or returned to college for important reasons, and one of those reasons is to learn new skills or expand on your current skills. Therefore, the purpose of the essay you will write in this course is for you to tell your reader (your essay evaluator) three skills you hope to learn or improve on while in college. For each of your course assignments, you will build one section of your essay until you have a final version.
In the first three assignments, you learned your topic, created a thesis statement, prepared an outline, and wrote your introduction and conclusion. Now you will use those pieces to create the first draft of your essay. DIRECTIONS: Write a two to three (2-3) page essay combining all the elements (introduction with your thesis statement, three supporting paragraphs, and a conclusion) to create a five-paragraph essay in which you:
Develop a clear introduction paragraph based on the feedback you received for Touchstone 2.1.
Include, as the last sentence in the introduction, the final version of your thesis statement.
Use your outline structure from Touchstone 1.2 to develop three body paragraphs, one for each main idea of the thesis, with at least two supporting points each.
Develop a clear conclusion paragraph to the essay based on the feedback you received for Touchstone 2.1.
Meet the assignment length requirement of two to three (2-3) pages.
Minimize mechanical and stylistic errors.
The following requirements must be met for your submission to be graded:
