You have been given a topic from the following list to develop a workshop for a social care group.

Students should choose a group that they would support with the issues related to your topic in a “workshop”. For example, youths, people with disabilities, and domestic violence. In your report, you should demonstrate how you would provide a workshop on your topic to your chosen vulnerable group. It can be broken down in the following way:

An introduction to your chosen topic area.

In this part, you will give an overview of the topic area you have chosen for your workshop. Here you could provide any definitions or clarifications/simplifications that you think may be necessary for the group you will deliver this workshop topic. You could also provide important information on this topic area for the group who will receive this workshop.

Research informing you on the topic.

In this part, you will highlight what research you have completed on the topic area (readings and information you have gathered on the topic area) that have informed you more in relation to this topic. You may wish to highlight new information that you never knew about this topic or information that has changed your knowledge about this topic, in any way. Please pick out two to three of the main findings of your research on the topic and say how those findings would inform your workshop. In other words, we have used this information in this workshop because it is vital to the workshop participant’s knowledge within this topic area.
