Women and men enter the criminal justice system differently. Discuss the pathways that lead females into the criminal justice system and the impact of race, poverty and victimization. Are the criminal justice systems more lenient to female offenders? Identify and recommend possible solutions to address the pathways and reduce female’s involvement in the system and mention any relevant initiatives being undertaken by policy or practice in federal state or local jurisdictions.
