Part A: Written Essay For this fifth and final post-test, write an essay that addresses the following three items: 1. Describe what a capable (change) champion is and discuss the unique role they serve in leading organizational change. Be sure to discuss their rising importance in organizations and explain what specific steps we can take to champion other champions in our lives (as described in the Champions of Change article from this module). 2. Describe the different steps in the participative championing process and explain how this approach helps contribute to successful change initiatives (as described in the Champions of Change article from this module). 3. Watch the following TED-Ed video, What Makes a Hero?, by clicking here. After watching the 5-minute video, describe how the monomyth, or hero’s journey, can be related to being a change champion and/or agent. Instead of analyzing how others lead change, turn your focus inward this time and share your own hero’s journey as a change champion. Provide an example from either your professional or educational background that demonstrates your experience with leading change, no matter if it was something small, large, or anything in between. Be sure to relate your example to the different stages that apply from the hero’s journey structure, and discuss how seeing these parallels can help inform your role as a change champion going forward.
